About postgraduate studies

Imagen
The truth is that I have never taken the idea of doing a postgraduate seriously, but being a short time to finish my degree (I hope) the questions of my close friends and my family are becoming more frequent about studying in a postgraduate or something like that I have thought about it at times, and I think I would do it to perfect my studies and specialize in what interests me: the direction and the writing of scripts. I would take these courses because it makes sense for what I plan to do in the future and what I also plan to teach in the future in Chile. I would very much like to be a teacher and be able to share knowledge and learn more from students. I think that studying is a very important form of personal development and I always like to be learning new things and innovating. Also, I believe that one never stops learning, and it is important to have those instances throughout life, and hopefully, always. You never stop learning. That is important to be clear about. I wou...

My future (dream) job

Imagen
When I leave university I would love to get a job related to cinema, of course. I say it even if it seems obvious, because it is difficult to find a job when you just leave university. If I could get the dream job, I would like to work in an independent production company where I can contribute with my knowledge and creativity. I imagine a place where I will can write and direct films with a team where I feel in confidence. Collectively create audiovisual projects that contribute to Chilean cinema, giving a critical look at contingent issues. Also, making visible topics that interest me from emotionality, such as love and drama in youth, of this generation that has often wanted to be quiet for others. The job I imagine would be very free, no need to be in a office. I would like to travel the world with the projects developed, go to festivals and meet different cultures through the cinema :) I guess it's hard to think about salary when you talk about your ideal job, because when y...

Bonsái

I really don't know if I have a favorite author (In fact, I find it too hard to have "favorite things" because I am too scattered for the things I like) but I really like Alejandro Zambra's books, a 44-year-old Chilean writer and poet. In fact my favorite book is his, and his name is "Bonsai". In the book, the author recounts several episodes of a couple's life over several years. He does it in such a way that the book, although is short, catches the public who read the book. (as a curious fact the book was taken to the cinema by director Cristián Jimenez, and as in the book, everything happens in Valdivia <3)The last book I read was "Mapocho" by Nona Fernández. She is my girlfriends aunt, but I would not recommend it just for that reason hahaha but for the structure and simplicity (and show the reality of Chile) making "Mapocho" necessary read.  As in the cinema, I like drama, books based on reality and that talk about love. It ...

Life without movies is not life

Imagen
One of my favorite films of all time is "Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind" directed by Michel Gondry. A movie that talks about forgetting someone if one wishes. Voluntarily, we can go to an specialist and ask him to erase from our memory someone specific. The movie shows a visually appealing mental walk. The protagonists are played by Jim Carrey (who does not play a comic role this time) and Kate Winslet. I love the photographic and acting treatment that the film has. Besides that, I saw her at the right time, adolescence! hahaha. I've seen this movie more than 20 times! I highly recommend it! And of course, I would see this movie many times more! I love what it makes me feel when I see it. And the inspiration that gives me to make movies :)   The most important reason why I'm studying the career of journalism is because I love to watch movies!   Every week I watch different types of movies that I download with my computer or with Netflix on television. When I ...

Best holidays in the world

Imagen
Last summer, for the holidays, I traveled for the south of Chile backpacking with a very nice company, my girlfriend<3.   Where we went to Lican Ray, Villarica, Conguillio and Lanalhue on a trip that lasted thre weeks!  What a I like most for the trip was the cold days, bus trips next to my girlfriend, teacups  and long conversation in a place as beautiful as the south of Chile! We also swim in many lakes, we walked a lot, we dance a lot, we laughed a lot! And the most important thing... We met wonderful people!  I had a really great vacations... I spent a lot of money too, but it was totally worth it. In fact, I recommend backpacking in the holidays -specially in summer!- because you live experiencies that you would otherwise miss...   I hope this summer, I will have the opportunity again to travel, and this time visit the north of Chile.    It would be great to take many photos that remind me the whole experience of the trip, like this one:

Fall in love in Paris

I would really like to visit France because is one of the most important countries for the history of cinema. In this country the Lumiere brothers invented the cinema  as we know it in actuallity (in the sense of cinema as a entertaiment thing).  In this country I would like to visit many places, like their cinemas, theatres, museums, and of course the Eiffel tower! And  every place to know the history of art in this country and the world.  I would like to visit too the festival of Cannes, because I'm studiyng to become a film producer and this Festival is the most important in the cinematographic industry. In France I would like work in a coffee or any place by the styling to pay my stay. Live in a residence with people from other countries and learn from other cultures. Finally, I would like to study anything related to cinema or history because for me this subjects ar very importants in my life
